10th EU Human Rights Film Competition

The Delegation of the European Union to Turkey has organized the EU Human Rights Short Film Competition in Turkey on the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

BRIEF:

The Delegation was looking for a TV Promo for the short film competition. And wanted to emphasize on; Equality, Environment, Health, Education, Labour, Segregation and Freedom of Speech.

CHALLENGES:

The TV Promo had to be around 30 seconds. We had to deliver seven different concepts on Human Rights and a Packshot. So each concept has roughly 3 seconds run time to convey the idea. We pitched some darker stories to the Delegation, but they were looking for a lighter approach. For each human rights, we came up with a microstory.

UNIQUE SOLUTION:

We built our stories around little birds and placed them in surreal worlds. Tried to look from different perspectives and be smart about each concept. Also left space for interpretation to the viewer and hopefully triggered some train of thoughts about Human Rights.

MAKING OF:

The production of this piece is unique on its own. We used an animation app called Looom for almost every aspect of the film. All the animations and scenes made within the capabilities and limitations of the app. We highly recommend you to download this app and play with it. Amazing.
