Cartoon Network, Teen Titans GO -
TV Promo
Cartoon Network London, in cooperation with CN Ä°stanbul, commissioned us to produce a worldwide TV promo. We aimed to replicate the smartphone camera aesthetics to show the Teen Titans doing their usual wacky hijinks using karaoke apps, which have become wildly popular among teenagers. You may come across our promo on the European and American networks under the title of “Teen Titans Go, Dance Weekend.” Get ready! :)
BRIEF:
Cartoon Network was looking for mobile phone esthetics for the camera movements. They provided the songs to accompany each character: Cyborg - Peace and Love, Raven - Dem Legs and Starfire - Hot Pepper. They asked for energetic, funny, homemade-looking videos for tv promo.
CHALLENGES:
We did not have access to original files, only had visual guidance documents from Cartoon Network, and had to reconstruct each character from scratch on ToonBoom. Characters had to dance, be funny and catch the eye of over bombarded kids.
UNIQUE SOLUTION:
We developed visual gags for each song and each character according to their ethos. We used After Effects tricks on background illustration to turn them into 3D spaces.
